The Pan Mass Challenge took place on August 6 & 7. This was my 17th time riding and probably my best overall. The weather was perfect, I felt strong the entire way, and finished with one of my fastest times ever.

I usually get this trip report out immediately following the event but this year the morning after the event I was on a plane with my family on our way to Hawaii for two weeks. This was a first for us all and I must say is definitely a nice way to finish the ride. It was interesting to say the least to sit on a plane for over 12 hours the day after riding 192 miles. I did a lot of pacing and stretching on the plane but had a great couple weeks to recover.

Once again I would like to thank you for sponsoring me in this very worthy cause and for letting me ride on your behalf. The condensed "highlight" trip report follows if you have limited time to read (or are bored by my reports). It is followed by a story I call "Cancer Sucks" and the long trip report that details the weekend in as much detail as I can share. I hope this gives you a sense of the ride as I experienced it.

I thank all of you that have already submitted your donations. Your donations amount to almost $11,500 so far putting me past my initial goal of $8,000. It looks like my 2005 fundraising total will go over $13,000 once all of your pledges are in. This is incredible and means more to me than you will know! To those of you that have pledged your support you can make your donations as follows:

1) Secure, online electronic donations can be made by clicking on the following link:

Best Regards,

- Bill
